Contest-1992 (Stand-up Comedy Competition at "Stand-Up NY" Comedy Club) - My sessions thus have a humorous touch, yet they are very informative and meaningful ~ Teacher of the Year-1992-JHS 43 ~ Successful veteran (and "legend") of 25 summers at Trail's End Camp in Beach Lake, Pa. - Call Mr. Stanley Goldberg, the Camp Director, at 516-781-5200 for reference ~ Speaker at the "Tri State" Camping Conference NYC 1999 All sessions will be tailored to your needs - They can include some or all of the following: ~ Seminars and Workshops (for either large or small groups) will take the form (any or all) of: ~ Lectures ~ Role playing ~ Questions and Answers ~ Discussion of the book and/or all aspects of "counseloring." ~ Debates And "Walk-through" Instructions Staff Development Workshops will consist of: ~ "Chalk-talks" in the Classroom ~ Go to athletic fields for specific instruction at each activity, and highlight what to "look for:" aspects of safety, motivation, and "Values Education," etc ~ Work in the bunks; (on cleanup, inspection, packing, unpacking, cubby management, etc.), at the dining room (table manners); at the waterfront (safety aspects); i.e., we can tour all activity areas for a walk-through on every aspect of each unique situation. For the "Rookie" Counselor we offer: ~ Expert training and orientation in camping with special emphasis on disciplining (with dignity) techniques for the counselor as well as skills useful in motivating campers. ~ Team building skills - i.e., learning how to work as part of the entire camp team and to use all available resources to problem-solve. For Veterans, we will: ~ Hone skills and seek to enhance methodologies. ~ Work to maintain a fresh and enthusiastic attitude. I can also do "Troubleshooting" for you: ~ Observe your camp "in action" from the morning Reveille through the evening Tapps. ~ Attend camp during the camp season and analyze the program from top to bottom. ~ Examine all areas from a safety perspective - touring the fields and activity areas to perform this in-depth review. ~ Check out the efficient functioning of all activity areas. ~ Prepare a "needs assessment" for staff training (from all angles) and devise a plan to accomplish its goals. ~ Make suggestions on everything under the warm summer sun. ~ Improve all aspects of the staffs' relationships with the children, with each other, and with the administration. ~ Help add spirit, charisma, soul and enthusiasm to all members of the camp. ~ Take your camp to a higher level in virtually everything. ~ Do any or all of the above!
